Ingredient Breakdown
All-purpose flour – the flour needs to be heat treated to kill any potential harmful bacteria. You can heat treat flour by placing in the microwave for 30 second intervals until it reaches 160°F or by baking it on a lined baking sheet for 5 minutes at 350°F.
Butter – I always recommend using unsalted butter but salted butter works if that’s all you have on hand, just be sure to omit the 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Granulated sugar and brown sugar – both sugars are necessary for sweetness and texture. I prefer using dark brown sugar for extra molasses flavor but light brown sugar also works fine!
Milk – acts as a substitute for eggs.
Vanilla extract and salt – enhances flavor. Always use pure vanilla extract instead of imitation for best flavor.
Chocolate chips – I recommend using mini chocolate chips since these cookie dough bites are small.

How To Make Homemade Cookie Dough Bites
1. Heat treat the flour: heat all-purpose flour in the microwave for 30 second intervals stirring between each until it reaches 160°F or bake the flour on a lined baking sheet for 5 minutes at 350°F. Set aside to cool.
2. Make the Cookie Dough: Use a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment to cream the softened butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Mix in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined. Scrape the sides of the bowl.
4. Add the heat treated all-purpose flour and salt then mix on low speed until almost combined. Then add the mini chocolate chips and mix on low speed until just combined.
