COOKIE INGREDIENTS

- All-purpose flour - Cocoa powder - Baking soda - Salt - Baking powder - Unsalted butter - Granulated sugar - Brown sugar - Eggs - Buttermilk - Vanilla extract - White vinegar - Red food coloring

FROSTING INGREDIENTS

- Unsalted butter - Cream cheese - Confectioners' sugar - Vanilla extract - Salt

STEP 1

Cream softened butter and both sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Then add the buttermilk, vanilla, white vinegar and red food coloring.

Add the dry ingredients all at once and mix on low speed until just combined. Do not over mix the dough because it will make the cookies tough.

Scoop dough onto lined baking sheets. While the cookies are baking prepare the cream cheese frosting.
